Bases are one of the many custom features that The Mining Dead servers offers.
Obtaining and maintaining a base can be a tough problem to tackle, team members can tremendously help with it!
Players can explore the map or use their compass (and the online map) to track any nearby unclaimed bases.
The cost for building a base from the ground up is $18,000 and 250 of each material. While an abandoned base, depending on the base tiers, can cost anywhere from $18,000 to $2,700,000.
There are multiple ways to go about finding materials for a base. The 4 materials are wood, cloth, metal, and money.
Wood is the rarest material. You can use axes or a chainsaw the ripper to get wood from logs around the map, either from trees or decorations, this includes decorative base logs. You can scrap wooden weapons and barricades for wood.
Cloth can be obtained by scrapping leather or military armor. If you put four cloth into your crafting grid, you will get one bandage.
Metal can be obtained by scrapping vehicles, riot armor, and certain guns. The higher the tier of the item, the more metal you get.
All base resources can also be found in small quantities in any loot bag.
You can claim a base by standing in a ruined or raided base and entering the command "/base claim"
You then need to retype it. If you are having trouble, make sure you have the required resources in your inventory!
Now that you have a base, you have to deal with daily upkeep cost.
If you fail to upkeep a base, it will be unclaimed upon the next upkeep check (or restart).
Every upkeep will require a set amount of materials and money to be within the base's core beacon. You can input materials by either right clicking it with a material in hand shift right click to deposit all of said material in your inventory, or by using the base GUI.
Upkeep costs are higher for upgraded bases.
Another thing you may use to upgrade bases are Base Gems. You can purchase gems from the Havoc Games store. They can be used in place of lost materials when upgrading parts of your base.
You may not use them on the competitive realm (inferno/tmdwars-1).
Along with finding bases, raiding a base is another option for a player to obtain a base, albeit lots of supplies can be required.
Players can raid bases using rocket launchers, grenades, and C4. Each rocket shot at the Base deals around 200 damage, each thrown grenade deals around 10, each grenade launched from a Grenade launcher deals 30 and each thrown (and detonated) C4 deals guaranteed 1000 damage.
C4 can be obtained by crafting it in the small 2x2 crafting grid in your Inventory using a Gascan (can be found in lootbags), a circuit board (can also be found in lootbags), a piece of metal (obtained by scrapping weapons or metal items), and gunpowder (obtained by putting any ammo in your crafting grid).
The wall health is calculated based off of the Level of walls and the amount of materials the base has in storage (wood, cloth and metal, money does not affect the wall HP, they add up the general base health however!!!).
How much health you get for every piece of ressource is determined by the type of ressource (metal and cloth give more HP than wood) and the level of your walls.
There are 5 base levels for you to upgrade your base to. The more materials you put into your base, the higher the base can level up. The 5 main things to level up in your base are your Armory, Storage, Farm, Gunsmith, Walls. Each tier offers different percentages and tiers of items they can produce.
The tiers that the Armory and Gunsmith can drop are Tier 1-4, Special, and Legend. The Storage can be upgraded to increase the amount of pages of storage in your base. The Walls of your base are what protect you from players, the higher these are leveled up the higher health your base will have. Finally, when upgrading the Farm, it increases the carrot production. Crops from your base can be used for food or be soldat safezones for money.
