¶ Cop Guide
CTA features, like other gta spinoff's, a police force. They will be part of your experience with your every step once you break the law.
¶ Wanted
When wanted, you will see stars as indicators of how wanted you are on the phone HUD (right lower corner) or the Scoreboard on the right hand side of the screen.
You can become wanted in various ways, some of the more prominent ones include:
- Stealing cars
- Shooting other players or cop npcs
- breaking in to banks or military base
While wanted you will face the Minehattan police force which will try and track you down!
Depending on your wanted level, more and stronger police and even SWAT will spawn around you.
You can lose the wanted Stars one after another by simply waiting it out. Alternatively, aim for Stealth Boosts around the map to reduce your wanted level by 1 Star or just bribe the police force and lose them all in an instant. This is done for money in the civilian app of your phone!
This will however not work when you are escaping Prison, fleeing from Military Base or a Bank heist.
Be carefull of other players as well, they can track you down using a scanner!
¶ Under the Radar
The second option of the civilian app is "Under the radar". While active, you are immune from receiving the cops for killing other players or grand theft auto and other small crimes for up to 20 minutes. You can still become wanted when trespassing on the military or breaking in to a bank.
Players with the Cop profession can also shoot you directly and need not wait for you to be wanted (more on this just below).
¶ Cop Mode
As civilian, you can join the Minehattan Police force yourself!
Simply look for a Police chief npc at spawn or a police station on the map and click the option "switch job".
You can not switch jobs again for a while, more on this in the Donator-Perks
The main Pro's and Cons of this playstyle are listed here:
- You can not receive wanted as a Cop and you receive free access to the military base
- You have access to the police utility Npc
- You get rewards for arresting (killing) fugitives of Prison breaks or Heists
- You can not use civlian Cars and are stuck to Police related vehicles
- You do not have a first strike on other players, unless they are wanted or under the radar
- You can not loot Vaults
¶ Prison and Arrests
As a Cop you can arrest (only!) other wanted players by killing them.
They will then be put in to jail and you may receive additonal rewards if they just broke into a bank for example. Also, you are rewarded up to 2 Arrest points.
Once in Prison, the player can either wait the jail time out which depends on wanted stars upon arrest, escape via help from outside which you can call on the phone or a faulty Key pad. Interacting with that will open a small "match the color" minigame and open up a way for you to outside.
If you escape, you will receive 6 Stars and need to lose the cops util you receive a jail break reward, other players that assist you by breaking you out also receive rewards.
If you are arrested again you will simply be put in the jail again for however long you had left of jail time prior to the break out.
Keep in mind that you may not use any teleport, money, house commands or similar while in jail and if you log out you will again be put there next time you rejoin.
