¶ Armor guide
CTA has 4 different armor type: Civilian Gear, Millitary, Assault and Riot. All types of armor can be found in lootbags around the map and within crates or supplydrops.

Civilian Gear is the weakest kind of armor, you can find it in storage and mechanical loot bags. It's also part of the respawn kit.-

Assault Armor
Assault Armor is the secound best armor in the game. You can find it in military, police and vault lootbags. It is also commonly found in armory supplydrops likewise rare and legendary crates.- Assault Helment

Riot Armor
Riot Armor is the best armor in the game. You can find it most reliably within Vault lootbags or legendary crates and supply drops. It can also be found rarely inside military lootbags.If you are a member of a gang, the color of the riot armor can be changed. Gang leaders can change to specific colors in the gang app in the phone.
Riot armor can neither be bought nor sold at npcs, unlike all other types.

¶ Trivia
Explosions did ignore armor values up to Autumn of 2022, after that, they were made less aggressive to balance around explosive weapons.
Riot gear was purchaseable at armor shops in very early stages of the game for 5.000$ a piece, this was changed after Assault armor got added.
The default color of the riot armor is gray.
